UK (Wrexham Glyndwr University) Wrexham Glyndwr University top for student satisfaction in Wales and England
The Complete University Guide (CUG) has ranked Glyndwr top for student satisfaction in England and Wales, and second in the whole of the UK, in the newly-published 2023 table.
Compiled by IDP Education Ltd, every year the Complete University Guide releases UK University and subject league tables to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future.
The rise in satisfaction felt by students about their experience at Glyndwr builds on a similar ranking in The Guardian’s University Guide last September.
Within the guide’s individual subject rankings, Glyndwr also ranked first for student satisfaction within three subject areas.
- Agriculture and Forestry – in which Glyndwr offers courses in Animal Behaviour Welfare Conservation Science with Foundation Year BSc (Hons) and Equine Science and Welfare Management BSc (Hons).
- Nursing – in which Glyndwr offers courses BN (Hons) in Adult Nursing, Children’s Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.
- Sociology – in which Glyndwr offers courses in Criminology and Criminal Justice (BA Hons) and Law and Criminal Justice (BA Hons).
The subject tables are based on five measures (Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Graduate Prospects – outcomes and Graduate Prospects – on track) and include 150 universities, university colleges and specialist higher education institutions.
Within the Education subject table, Glyndwr has seen a hugely impressive rise of 68 places for student satisfaction.
Speaking about the positive sense of satisfaction felt by students at Wrexham Glyndwr University, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Taylor said: “This impressive result reflects the care and commitment shown by everyone at the University to ensure our students are presented with the best possible opportunities to succeed in their studies.
“At Wrexham Glyndwr we pride ourselves on our values of being accessible, supportive, innovative and ambitious.
“High levels of student satisfaction reflect this approach and we are delighted that the Complete University Guide recognises the positive experience that students have when they study with us.”
The subject tables also reflect a top place ranking for Graduate Prospects in the Building category, in which Glyndwr offers courses in Architectural Design Technology (HNC) and a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.
