Ghana (Presbyterian University College) Chief of Somsei discusses collaboration with Presbyterian University, Ghana
The Chief of Somsei, Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II has requested for a formal collaboration between Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) and his community on commercial farming opportunities.
The Chief made the appeal when he called on the Management of PUG on 10th November, 2022 at Abetifi-Kwahu to express his appreciation for the support the University offered him and his people during the inauguration of a Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound he constructed for his community.
Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II, who is the Chairman of Family and Friends Group of Companies believes further collaboration between his community and the University will create employment, offer internship opportunities for the students of the University, and improve food production in the country.
The President of the PUG, Prof Ebenezer Oduro Owusu welcomed the call by the Chief and said the University will consider his appeal and work towards achieving that goal.

Prof Oduro Owusu said the University has already started a process with the Kwahu Traditional Council to improve agricultural production in the Afram Plains area to improve the economic activity in Kwahu.
The President disclosed that the University is coming up with both Undergraduate and Graduate programmes in Food Security that would cover the entire value chain in food production and believes the call is in the right direction to get the youth into commercial farming.

He promised Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II that a delegation from the University will visit his community and other places in the Afram Plains area to explore opportunities for such partnership.
