Our experts on transport have developed a transport general, a strategic document for transport solutions for several Slovak cities, including Žilina.

Professional team of the ERAdiate project led by prof. Ing. Tatiana Kováčiková, PhD. She is an expert on intelligent transport systems and deals with developing intelligent transport systems.

Research, measurements, and enhancements are carried out by UNIZA students directly on the orange prototype of a small urban experimental electric car – EDISON. It has been completely developed and built at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Black ice on the roads will maybe soon become a thing of the past. The team of the UNIZA Research Centre is working on an automatic anti-icing spray system.

Study and research at UNIZA are closely linked to practice. We actively cooperate with leading Slovak and international companies, e.g., Huawei, Siemens, ŽSR, Kia Motors Slovakia, Scheidt and Bachmann, etc.

In the field of cooperation in education and science, we cooperate with more than 150 universities worldwide.

We are closely connected with our graduates through faculty alum clubs.

The teaching period at UNIZA usually starts on the last Monday of September. The official academic year begins on 1st September. The teaching period is divided into winter and summer semesters and examination periods. Students can find important dates in the academic calendars of their faculties.

The University underwent a comprehensive accreditation in 2015. The university’s educational, research, development, and other creative activities were reviewed and evaluated within this accreditation. Based on the granted rights, it provides education at all three levels of study (BA., MA. / ENG., PhD.). You can check the accreditation of our study programs at the University Portal (Portal VS).

The University annually evaluates the results in all areas of its operation. Information about the provision of higher education is part of the Annual Activity Report for the calendar year.
